Children 'at risk of abuse' as social services routinely refuse to co-operate with the police





‘Children are at risk of abuse because councils refuse to co-operate with police and prosecutors, Labour has claimed.

The findings come in the wake of a report that disclosed the shocking failure of the authorities in Rochdale to protect vulnerable young girls from being groomed and raped by a gang of older men.

New figures released today show two-thirds of council-run children’s service departments have refused to share information about potential child abuse with police or prosecutors.’
