83% say energy suppliers maximise profits at expense of consumers

Reblogged from Pride's Purge:

(It's not satire - it's the UK today!)

In a survey by YouGov yesterday, 83% of UK consumers felt that energy suppliers were maximising their profits at the expense of their customers

Over half agreed that “energy companies treat people with contempt”

And remarkably, more voters think that energy prices are the number one threat to the economy - more of a threat even than unemployment, inflation or taxes.

Looks like Ed Miliband is onto a winner with his pledge to freeze gas and electricity bills.
