PCS Union pushes Sanctions for the Unemployed

The unemployed lose out at the PCS conference as `Sanctions` becomes a political toy where the NEC will only campaigned to remove them for people in part-time employment under universal credits.
They have never had any intention of any other proposal gaining traction as the PCS campaign to return the welfare system to what it was before; they run it and control the contracts.

Boycott Workfare has been in discussion with the PCS over sanctions however look at this, if it is not the PCS press office not giving boycott workfare the fob off I don’t know how to describe it. I challenge the press office of the PCS Union when the guardian first released the news of quota’s from the same and got the run around from him.

Thursday at conference: campaign against welfare reform
From every direction the welfare state seems to be under threat with sanctions changes to Jobseeker's Allowance, the proposed benefit caps, the Bedroom tax, and hostile reporting of claimants in the media resulting in verbal and physical assaults on members.

Motions A90, A92 and A540 called for a fully-funded welfare state, condemned the introduction of the hated Bedroom tax and instructed the NEC to campaign for the removal of sanctions - relating to the new Universal Credit - against part time workers.
Moving motion A90 Rob Russell of DWP Birmingham South said: “The government’s attacks on the unemployed, the sick, the disabled and ourselves as civil servants are the most vicious yet seen. The rhetoric being used – picked up by the right wing leaning press – attempts to set up a skivers Vs strivers mentality and debate.”
