JC+ Slave Market: Desperate Tweets Of A Flawed System…

These are a series of Twitter Messages posted by various JCP’s around the UK:

Some of them begging prospective employers to use Universal Jobmatch (which is hardly surprising) and others, more shockingly, selling the 18-25 unemployed by baiting them with the princely sum of £2,275.

What the hell??? Is this really the way the JCP and The Government see our unemployed youths? Do they really see them as nothing more than pieces of flesh to be sold in some twisted cattle market to the first bidder that comes along? Are they really so desperate to get them off benefits that they need to bribe employers? Of course the Government will tell you that it’s all about cutting the bill. But the £2,275 they so readily offer is only £650 less than the average 18-25 Claimant gets per year so the savings aren’t that great…But, more than that, this Twitter post reveals one very startling fact…

Despite what our mighty leaders will have you believe there are not more jobs than people…but, if this is the case, why the fuck do JCP’s have to turn to Twitter in order to find employers who are both willing to use their mightily flawed service AND take on 18-25 year olds? It beggars belief.

While these are only a few examples they speak volumes about what is really going on behind the tightly closed doors of the DWP. We all knew something stunk…but we just needed proof…and here it is.

I sat pondering over these tweets last night and wondered just what they say about our system as a whole.

1: We all know the figures are manipulated. But are the real figures so bad that cash has to be offered in order to get 18-25 year olds in to work?

2: The amount of sanctions being handed out for “failure to look for work” are obscene. But, looking at the begging undertone of these posts, just how many are actually fair and legal?

3: How can we trust a system that thinks a £650 (per claimant) a year saving is better than nothing at all? That amount would just about cover 2 people’s wages for a week. The math really doesn’t work out… I suppose it’d subsidise one H.O.P. restaurant for a day though…

4: (I call this the “glaringly obvious one”) If, as IDS would have us believe, Universal Jobmatch is such a great success then why on earth do they need to beg employers to join? Fish4 & Jobsite etc don’t need to beg. In fact companies PAY to advertise jobs on those sites.Yet the DWP can’t get them to advertise on their’s for FREE…

5: How desperate must the JCP be to have to run to Twitter? Everybody knows it’s one of the biggest social networking platforms on the planet. Surely they must’ve realised that somebody would pick up on this pathetic bid to pull themselves out of the big bucket of shit they’re in…

Sure, we all know that desperate times call for desperate measures. But admitting in public that you’re so far through the bottom of the barrel you could build a long boat with the amount of splinters under your fingernails is both pathetic and offensive. It’s time for a change. It’s time for the DWP to be brought to task by those of us that are persecuted daily by them. It’s time for the truth…
